We arrived in Les Cayes at 7:38 Monday night. Once again the lord gave us Favor all the way, from our bus ride to NY with ABC Tours bus services, American Airlines, The Haitian Customs and the five star bus services in Port-au-Prince. We had 4 extra bags plus other suitcases that were overweight. Our first traditional spaghetti dinner was on the table. With a big smile on his face pastor John shouted: "Welcome to the mission house". We enjoyed dinner and then prepared for our first medical clinic.
Today was an extraordinary day, we had our team divided into two, a medical team and a construction team working at the same location. La Croix. While the medical team were seeing as many people as possible, the construction team was engaged in transporting cement blocks and gravel from the street to the back of the church building, while the well crew digs one hundred and fifty feet to discover clean drinkable water to serve the community.
The Pastor of a church in La Croix, Rev Joseph Millien expressed his gratitude to the people who provided the finances for the well and the work of his church by saying our presence represents life in the community, both physical and spiritual.
James Woods, a first time on the Haiti trip participated in the well digging process and here is what he says:
Today I had an opportunity to sit on a pole ten feet up in the air, I was providing the weight as two Haitians turned it, drilling it to 150 feet into the ground. This is a part of the process to dig a well that will be serving the entire community. This well, constructed with funds provided from the U.S., will provide safe clean water for the community. Because of your help BEM will make an outstanding difference in the area of health through clean water. You can make a difference by sponsoring a well in one of the many communities that BEM serves.

Now let me introduce you to my friend Susan Farrell, also a first time missionary to Haiti.
My first day of working serving the community, Amidst what we would consider poverty in America, I saw joy , and thankfulness and praise in the hearts of the people. Random acts of kindness are the basic needs that were met and brought smiles to many. We think we were serving the Haitian people but truly they are humbling us showing us that true joy is not based on circumstance or earthly possessions. Matthew 25:40 and the King will answer and said to them; Assuredly I say unto you , as much as you did to one of the least of them my brethren you did it to me.
As we serve those Jesus loves we worship him, as we worship Christ he inhabits the praises of his people he is glorified in our midst.
Gloriously
